JUST SURFACED! Pictures of 41-2595 in India!

Post by DryMartini »

Pictures came from the co-pilot at the time, Lt. Emil Pindzola.
Pilot was Lt. Col. C.B. Oldfield

Sent to us by the co-pilot himself.

Nice pictures, I like the radio rack behind the co-pilot.

I'm curious to know whether or not the copilot knows his B-17 is being restored. It would also be interesting to hear what he remembers about the airplane. Would be good to document this before he passes on as it would add to the history of the airplane.

Mr. Pindzola did indeed know the plane was being restored, and sent the pictures.
Mike had talked to him once, but we've since lost contact. :-(

Bill,

How long ago did you speak with him? Do you have any contact infromation or know where he is living? I'd like to take a crack at locating him and get his story about flying the airplane before its too late.
