B-25s do fly in IMC available on DVD

Post by Hieminga »

Just a heads up: Steve Richards has aquired the rights to publish the 1978 documentary 'B-25s Do Fly In IMC' on DVD, albeit in a limited number. I just received mine a few days ago and you get a good quality copy of the original one-hour long documentary, showing how John 'Jeff' Hawke organised a gaggle of five B-25s and flew them across the Atlantic for the movie 'Hanover Express'. You also get a small booklet with photos and information about the B-25s and the filming. For more contact Steve on motorwaycoaches@tiscali.co.uk, price is GBP 15.95 (ex-shipping I think).

I believe the movie was "Hanover Street" (Harrison Ford). One of the B-25s was repaired here at St Pete Clearwater Airport (now PIE). It was ferried there with gear and faps down because they couldn't be retracted. Jimmy Doolittle was in the co-pilots seat for that flight. Dennis
