Old Documentary

Post by jsulko »

Just got back into the WWII plane stuff when watching the new dogfigher show on History channel. Used to study it tons as a kid. About 10 years ago I was watching a show about a bomber restoration in a remote snowy location. They were flying equipment in to fix the plane on-site to fly it out. They were under a time crunch to finish before winter. Never got to send the end of the show but the last I saw implied something bad happening on the takeoff attempt. This ring any bells for anyone?

The location was Greenland, the aircraft was a B-29 and it burned (destroyed) prior to takeoff.
