Not sure how I missed these gems. These LIFE photos taken at Hendricks Field in Sebring, FL (Or they may be from MacDill; not certain) have been public for a while. Just now noticed the tail number.

Amazing what just turns up. Early Air Corps insignia is interesting. Nice find and thanks for posting them.

Desert Rat or Tangerine? It would be interesting to know when this 41-2595 was called Tangerine instead of the Desert Rat.

We have never seen a photo of 41-2595 before she was
converted. Where did you find those photos?

I will submit that there are more photos with regards to whatever that was all about.Maybe somebody can check the "LIFE" archieves.I also think there are graduation books from Hendrix that may have more photos.

I do recall getting these from the Google LIFE photo archive, but for the life of me cannot remember what I typed to make the set pop. I don't think you will find it under any obvious search criteria, as I have re-tried. It is quite a large set of photographs depicting B-17E training at Hendricks. Fortunately, I saved all of them to my HD. I will post the rest. They have also been posted on WIX by the username Mark Allen M in the past.
