B-25 n numbers

Post by rwdfresno »

I noticed that there is a group of B-25s that at some point had consecutive N numbers. My guess is that at some point they were all registered by one owner at the same time which would account for this. That would in a way make these B-25s sister aircraft at least in civilian life. I am interested if anyone knows who this group of B-25s was operated by.

Not necessarily the same owners but sold at about the same time, probably as USAF surplus in 1959 or so. The FAA assigned registration blocks to surplus aircraft and N3XXXG was one of the blocks. You'll notice a number of different types of surplus aircraft sold at that time in the same block: N3687G, N3702G, N3703G, and N3713G were B-17s, for example.
