Thanks. Some reviews are good and some were bad. Anyone want to add to the reviews?

Re: Windmill
Windmilling of the engine is when the airstream turns the propeller/engine combination. It happens when the propeller can't be feathered, i.e. the propeller blades turned into the airstream leading edge forward to prevent the air from turning the propeller. This can happen if the oil supply is gone ...

Barksdale B-17
From the Air Force Times, Bringing Back Miss Liberty: Airmen, volunteers, and contractors at Barksdale AFB, La., are restoring a B-17G bomber for the 8th Air Force museum in honor of Maj. Gen. Lewis Lyle, a B-17 pilot who flew 69 combat missions over Germany during World War II. "Lyle was an aviator...

Don't mess with Texas.
This was filmed in 1991. It was an anti-litter campaign, accomplished with "Sentimental Journey". For obvious reasons it was my favorite.

BO means it was built by Boeing in it's Renton plant. Douglas (DL) and Vega (VE) also built B-17s. The -60 is called a block number, meaning it had numerous improvments made to it from the original B-17F model.

B-17 with the nose blown off
Here is a link to the story about the B-17 that flew back to it's base with the nose blown off. I've seen the first photo hundreds of times but never the last two.

Postwar B-17
I saw a photo of a postwar B-17 in a MATS paint job with a red tail. The serial number was 483706. I couldn't locate it in any serial number listing such as Joe Baugher's. Any pne have a history of it?

Re: B-17
