BAC1504-652 Bulb Angle

Post by DryMartini »

Another attempt at running a bulb angle extrusion.
This one is thicker than the BAC1504-650 we ran last year,
and is used in the top of the bomb bay, and in the
floor of the radio room (as well as in the engine nacelles
and as reinforcing strips in the wing tip spars, vertical stabilizer
spars, and horizontal stabilizer spars).

Again, not cheap to run, but with some numbers,
can be cost effective. Dimensional cross section
to follow.

Bill,
Is it too late to get in on this? We are going to be doing some structural repairs under our radio room floor. Let me know what kind of cost we're looking at.

Do you have an estimate as to how many feet you may need?

I've calculated:

Bombay = ~24 feet
Radio Room = ~60 feet

It is also needed in the nacelles.

Looks like we're going to run this extrusion.
Here are my calculations:

Bombay = 24'
Radio Room = 65' (Max length ~90")
Nacelles 1 & 4 = 60' Each
Nacelles 2 & 3 = 75' Each

The fuselage numbers are accurate. The nacelle numbers
are approximates based upon difficult-to-read-blueprints.

Small quantity runs are rather expensive per foot, while
larger ones will be more reasonable. Final price will be
figured before the run, as it is dependent on the total
run quantity.

16' lengths, 2024-T3511
Planning on ordering by end of month.
