B-17G Pitot Tube

Post by Fortress17G »

Hello, I read your posting about pitot tubes and noticed you are looking for a D-2 type head? I have a B-17G pitot tube picked up at Kingman 20+ years ago. It is the short variety as opposed to the long ones on B-17F's. Is this what you are looking for?

The head on the long mast (19.44" long to be exact)
is a D-2 24V type head. I have not extricated the B-17G
Pitot mast assembly for the B-17G from the microfilm as of
yet, but I would figure the head to be the same.

Bill,

Do you have an AN- number for the D2 pitot tube?
