I can’t really add anything much, but that photo of Bust My Britches! is certainly intriguing. I suspect it’s a B-17G but I can’t get much further than that.

It’s possible that it is the same B-17 that appears in one or both of these photos.



I have no details at all of where or when the above photo was taken. The undated photo below shows what might be the same B-17 among a flock of Corsairs at Zamboanga. I found it on the 2nd Emergency Rescue Squadron’s website, where it was credited “courtesy of Warner Britton”.



Unfortunately I can’t add anything more, and I may be dead wrong.

Interesting shot. What exactly is that instrument outside of the navigator position? I've never seen one of those before. There is definitely an installed cheek gun, its hard to tell if there is a chin turret from the glare on the photo.
