Re: 41-9234: A Very Unusual B-17E

arribasa, thanks for sharing your pictures.

The condition of the aircraft is amazing all things considered. (Crash, weather, fire, etc...)

Sure would be nice to see it recovered. :D

Re: RV-8 Website

Scott, I check your RV-8 updates too. It is fun to follow along step by step with a home built. I think it would be fun to do my own home built some day so it is nice to see how it is done. Keep up the good work.

Wow, small world! Thanks for your comments Charlie. It is one thing to see some pictures and dates, but a whole different story to have the pilot chime in. :D

Re: Swamp Ghost is in Town

Glad to hear the Swamp Ghost has arrived. I hope I get out to Pima to see it some day.

I saw that Indiana Jones movie, I remember the Nazi's and the flying wing... but no B-17... :D

Picadilly Lilly at PoF pictures.

Here are a bunch of pictures of Picadilly Lilly from my visit to Planes of Fame earlier this week. Looks like there has been a lot of progress made, and all the restored areas looked top notch to me. 8) My wife and I were allowed to enter the rear fuselage and look around a bit. The pics of the fron...

Re: B-17F 42-29589 Crashed 2/22/44.

Thank you for the info, that is just what I wanted to know. So would it be correct that the plane was delivered in a standard O.D. over gray paint scheme when new? Also, according to one website: "According to one report, the words "Up Der Fuhrer!" were painted on the nose cone of the plane" I have ...

Re: B-17F 42-29589 Crashed 2/22/44.

I've been able to gather a good bit of info on this crash, including some articles from the local paper from when the crash occurred. The plane crashed into a mountainside in heavy fog. All twelve aboard were killed. One passenger was an RAF navigator. The plane was one of two that was traveling fro...

Thanks for the Amazing Stories update. I caught that on TV years ago and have always wondered what the real story with the B-17 was. 8)

Re: Happy New Year and B-25 News updated

Thanks for the update! I liked it so much I just placed an order for your B-25 in Civil Service book. My copy of Final Cut was getting lonely.

I like your idea for staggering the updates. (<<< One of the ones who loses sleep over it  )

B-17F 42-29589 Crashed 2/22/44.

Hi everyone. I am looking for info on B-17F 42-29589. It crashed in bad weather in Northern NJ on 2/22/44. Near the Delaware water gap area. Near Boyscout camp No-Be-Bo-Sco. There seems to be a fair bit of info on the crash online. (Unit, crew, serial, etc) Just wondering if anyone has visited the s...

XLIV: I would also be interested to hear what you find out about the plans. I am a fan of old drawings (I'm a draftsman) and often wonder what the market or collectibility is for old prints.

I'd love to find some original P-61 drawings...

Looks like you are moving right along.

What an ambitious and exciting project.

I bet you will finish your full sized B-17 before I ever get around to building my 1/48 scale Monogram kit...
