Re: Hobbs 92
Was this on August 18, 1944 at Tinker Field? AAIR lists a second accident for 44-8064 on May 16, 1945 - a ground collision with TB-17F 42-30978 at Hobbs.
BTW, wasn't 8064 on your list previously as #09...?

Re: Can anyone identify these B-17F trainers?
I've noticed this in a couple other photos - the data block is often in just the right spot for the #2 prop to fling oil/water/ice at it. A few F-model trainers showed up on eBay last week; sold for too much $$ but I saved the images. 42-5302(?) and 42-5265; AAIR accident lists 302 as a bailout/fire...

44-83809 - any known photos?
Just spotted a shot of VB-17G 44-83809 on one of my FB groups - just shows the tail number; Vice President Alben W. Barkley is in front of it. I'm on vacation right now but I'll post it this weekend.

Re: History of Tallman FG-1D N3440G
The fire was Saturday, June 2, 1979. The Corsair isn't specified; just "five small airplanes". Newspapers.com has two similar AP articles; one from Fort Worth and one from Tyler. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53419203829_70bedc9324_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53417961242_f25ed87c...

Take a close look at the view out the copilot's window at 11:08: Did they film the second unit footage at Litchfield Park? Lots of retired Navy aircraft visible. Maybe outtakes from The Lady Takes a Flyer?
