| This ex-USAF DB-17P drone controller has been with the SAC Museum collection since 1959. Its last paint scheme and markings were of "King Bee," a 100th Bomb Group B-17F (s/n 42-3474) but the SAC Museum website would indicate that paint and markings have been stripped since the museum moved to its new site in May 1998. This view shows the B-17 as "King Bee" in August 1996, sans wings, as preparations were being made to move the museum to its new site. (Photo by Scott Thompson) |
